An initial feasibility study of the fire and police facilities determined that the police department, currently housed at the Town Houses’ rear, had the most pressing needs for a new home. Context Architecture evaluated options for a new location and identified a site adjacent to the Town House. In its new, larger home, the new Plympton Police Station presents a more public face to the community; features a public meeting room; and provides the department with dedicated areas for patrol officers and detectives, evidence processing and storage, men’s and women’s locker rooms, as well as sally port and detention.
